Recently, Dakota County released their annual report on the number and type of criminal offenses prosecuted.  The 2011 reporrt shows a 17% increase in the number of adults charged with a felony when compared to 2010.  Even more surprising is that the number of felony level DWI/DUI prosecutions in 2011 increased 35% in comparison to 2010.  Dakota County states that the actual of crimes committed within the county in 2011 did not significantly increase over 2010 numbers.  Thus, the crimes being prosecuted in Dakota County are being pursued at a higher severity level.  

In Minnesota a felony is defined a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than 1 year.  However, if you are convicted of felony DWI in Minnesota, then you could face the following:
